we have 24 3.5 month old chick that go to 4h on the 25 we have never had lice . we now have lice i dusted the babies now they are in a dfferent penwe will get adults tomarrow, is there anything else better or quicker to use than 7 dust to get rid of them,anything else? how can you get the eggs off? any help please?

We've always used 7 dust. Sorry I can't be more help. I just noticed no one else had replied. Good Luck!

Adams Flea & Tick spray. IMO works better, easier to use (no cloud of dust to breathe in), and last alot longer (wards off mites/lice that might still be in the coop).

One squirt from the head down the neck, one or two around the vent and one/two under each wing.

We get it from smith poultry supply but have gotten a similiar adams spray at fleet farm also.

Sevin (carbaryl) dust or Poultry (pyrethrin) dust applied to whole chicken- avoiding eyes/nares/mouth, repeat in 2 weeks- then cycle again as needed. Everyone with chickens will get lice eventually. If you plan to show them- getting the eggs off- you need to bathe your birds- there are lots of home shampoo concoctions you can search for to prepare birds for show or sale. Cutting or pulling the feathers out to remove the eggs will look bad.
