HI. I'm hoping someonw here can help. I have a rooster who's face and leg is swollen. His wing on the same side is droopy as well. He has white bumps on his wattle. He is eating and drinking fine but I can tell he doesn't feel good. I've asked around and some people think its a severe repiratory issue. I have water soluable Tetra Vet ( Tetracycline ) and Tylan 50 injectable on hand as well as Vet RX and Veteracine. I do not see naything in his eye nor do I see scratches or a wouond of any kind. I'll attach a few pics for reference. TIA!!!

I agree that this looks like a severe respiratory infection.
Injectable Tylan 50 can be given orally or by injection.
Dosage is .2cc or ml per 5lbs of weight given 2X a day for 5days.
(One 5 lb bird dose = 1ml/cc)

It could mycoplasma (MG or MS which affects the bones,) but hard to know for sure. Tylan will help both of those, but he could remain a carrier. Could he have injured his leg? Is he limping? Tylan 50 injectable dosage is 0.2 ml per pound, twice a day for 5 days. It can be given orally or by injection. Does he have a bad odor near his face? That could be a sign of coryza, another respiratory infection. Have you added any new birds to the flock recently?

No new birds in a very long time. He was fine one day and bad the next. I started him on Teramyacine today... water soluble. He is not the friendsliest of Roos and it might be hard to give an injection. :-(

Terramycin or tetracycline is another drug that treats respiratory diseases such as MG or MS. He does need to drink enough of the medication to get the treatment, and unfortunately sick chickens don't always drink normally enough. Hopefully, he will though. If you should lose him, a necropsy would be helpful to identify what was wrong. I would probably close my flock to new birds, but vaccines are available if the disease is identified.
