Need Help Please TEMP Problems

i am incubating 43 eggs i have an thermometer on top of the eggs that reads 100 it is one of those that has the red going up the tube to read i also have one that is digital on the gloor of the incubator it reads 94.5 with 32 hummidity but my eggs fill cool to the touch almost cold did i just ruin these eggs i have 10 that are silkies, 6 lavender/split americaunas, 8 marans, 2 millies and the rest are mixed any advice would be greatly appreciated do i need to turn the temp up or leave it alone

i have increaded the temp a little but the eggs still fill cold to the touch i am so worried i have ruined them then windows and the little screws on the tom of my hova bator is really hot so i know that it is heating up but the eggs are still cold

What day are you on? I'd agree with upping the heat

The eggs will take awhile to warm up, so don't worry!

i am going on day three they are very cold but the temp reads 100 never had that problem before i had it set up and stable for two days before putting them in now come home to turn them and they were cold a little warmer now but still cool to the touch since i turned up the temp a little

why don't you just take both of the thermometers out and go by how they feel to your hand?

On chooks chicks cheat sheet, she recommends 3 thermometers for aquariums. And have them at different levels. she explains it. And don't trust digital! thats mostly what screwed up my last hatch. Is yours forced air? I just added a fan to mine so I'm hoping for a better hatch this time. And I hope you do too. Isn't it stressful after such a bad hatch! I check mine incessantly.

it is a still air the first time i hatched back in march with it out of 23 all hatched but a few days latter one died from being to weak. i do have a seconf thermometer laying on top of the eggs it came with the hova bator incubator you have to read a red line to see what that temp is and it reads 100 but it does not feel like it wen you touch the eggs they feel cool to the touch. the thermometer is almost like the aquareum thermometers but just flat. i loaned it to my kids school and now it is not acting right. it could be 100 in it but just does not feel like it to me. a few min ago it read 102 but i turned it down a little hopefully in a few days i will be able to find out if it is working right.

well i uped the temp and it sorared to 102 to 104 and the eggs were warm not hot but warm but at 100 they are cold so should i keep the temp up to 102 to 104 since they were warm at this temp instead of cold at 100 according to my thermometer

I think you need to get another thermometer to check what the temp is in there. Do you have a glass one that you use for human use??? That will work too, just lay it in there and see what it reads. I have even stuck the digital one I use for my kids in through the vent holes and pushed the button and waited for it to beep and it gave me a reading.

I use digital thermometers/hygrometers exclusively..

It sort of bugs me when somebody says do not ever use this kind or that kind.. I say, if it works for you, do it, use it....

many times a failed hatch is blamed on a piece of equipment, when it might be something altogether different.. many times it is operator malfunction , and they refuse to admit they made a mistake.. or it could be just a bad batch of eggs, or a hundred other problems..

the only way you should use more than one is if they compare temperature to each other 100%..
