I have a question about the polyvisol. I have a chick like this too and have tried the pedialyte and chick saver but not the polyvisol. If I try the polyvisol is it ok to keep using the pedialyte or chick saver at the same time?
she has been drinking for the last 5min and she seens a little stronger she is standing and chirping but still falling asleep. bad thing is its going right through her.
Thanks all, this is my 4th batch of chicks and thankfully all have been healthy (except being eaten up by night criters) up to this point thanks for all the tips.
I had one just like this today. I drove to the hatchery to pick them up instead of having them shipped. I gave sugar water and spent about two hours holding her in my bra to keep warm, and every five minutes or more giving her a drop or two of the sugar water on the side of the beak with a syringe. She seemed a little perkier, so I put her under the broody hen. I don't know if she'll make it, but I figured it was worth a try, given that the mama hen can keep her warmer than I can and she'll have the social contact to keep her from getting stressed. Please let us know how your little one does.
