Hello! I just picked up two EE 'pullets' yesterday and am concerned that one may be a cockerel. Can someone help? They are 6-8 weeks old, I don't think they're siblings. The blue is the one I think is questionable

It's not screaming cockerel to me.

At this point, you'd be looking for a larger, plump comb with three distinct rows, as a rule. And the blue color differs in male vs female. Males get darker shading on the wing/shoulder area. Females are a move even shade all over.

A profile shot of the bird and a closer comb pic would help confirm, but I'm leaning pullet

I believe she's a little older than the salt and pepper one. I don't mind the idea of a roo for protection, but my other hens are bantam and I think a full sized roo may be dangerous for them.

The salt and pepper one looks like a pullet. However, the other one is looking a little cockerelish to me.
