hallo everyone! I want you to meet Pepsi and Murphy.

Murphy has a large, scattered white spot on his head, which I think indicates a cockerel. Pepsi's head, on the other hand, is completely black, which leads to my question: Is it possible to have a Dominique/barred rock (bantam) that has absolutely no white on it's head?

I also heard that pullets have darker colored legs, which Pepsi has.

So what do you think?

It is possible for barred rocks to lack barring. But I think your little guy is an Australorp.

Super useful chart! This would mean that my silkie is a hen, which is absolutely wonderful. I'll compare Murphy and Pepsi tomorrow!

Not all breeds can be feather-sexed (Silkies cannot) and it must be done in the first day after hatch.
