I just added two baby chickens into my mix.

I know one of them is a standard barred rock, I'm hoping it's a female, cus I had a male barred rock this spring.

The other one I was told was a bantam Cochin, but it has king of been looking more like a serama or something that stands in a similar way. What do you think? Is the "cochin" a Cochin, is it male or female?

Your Rock has a rose comb and this make it Dominique.Sorry, looks rooish to me. Second one-I'll wait at least a mont to call it Cochin.Looks girlish.

A Dominique really, hmm interesting. I didn't even notice it does kind of have a rose comb. There where other "barred rocks" at this ladies place that had single combs as well, but she said they where all Barred rocks. Is there such a thing as a rose comb barred rock?

I would say the dominique is a roo but i dont have much experience with rose combs I do have a lot of experience with cochins and i would say that is a girl but at that age i had a rooster that looked like that so they are very hard to tell.

I'm not looking at the comb, but his barring. If Dominiques are anything like Barred Rocks, then the roosters have light barring and hens darker barring. His is pretty light, by that standard.
