She's got heat in her hip. She tries as hard as she can to get around and has been standing more. She's just so weak and she' lost a lot of weight. Trying to build her back up so she'll hopefully be just fine soon. I am putting aspirin in her as we speak! That's a relief, since she's the right age. Glad we don't need to talk about the "M" word.
Have you looked the leg over carefully for signs of infection from the injury? Is there any redness of the skin? Swelling?
Panting is not only a sign of a chicken being overly warm, but it also signifies stress. In this case, pain could be causing her stress. You can give her a baby aspirin tonight and another in the morning to help reduce the pain and relieve her stress. She can be give two baby aspirin per day.
As long as she' ok that' all that matters to meYou guys are killin' me with the "M" word. It's extremely common and not a flock death sentence. Many, many folks have happy, healthy flocks who have received a Marek's diagnosis.
I don' have one of her poop, we take her outside every evening and let her snack on the grass and she stood up and you could hear it. But she' had a lot of water today and watermelon too. Here's a pic from todayYou received good advice about upping her vitamin intake , I would also increase protein (scrambled eggs, meal worms). Can you post a picture of her? Of her poop?
Can you get a full body shot? Does she stand up okay?I don' have one of her poop, we take her outside every evening and let her snack on the grass and she stood up and you could hear it. But she' had a lot of water today and watermelon too. Here's a pic from today
When she stands up she tries to run to my lap so the best I could do was laying downCan you get a full body shot? Does she stand up okay?
The fact that she's still eating on her own is fantastic.
