I was given some duck eggs that someone would like me to hatch for them. Only thing is that I have never hatched duck eggs, just chicken eggs. Could some one please tell me what I need to do for duck eggs. Also can I incubate duck and chicken eggs together?
Thank you!

Hatching Duck eggs is pretty much the same as hatching chicken eggs you just need higher humidity. Turn 3x daily, and use the same temp as a chicken egg. I keep my humidity about 60-70% for the first 25 days. After day 25 I raise the humidity to 75-80% for hatching time. I have had 100% hatches each time I have incubated duck eggs.

Hope this helps.

Yes that does help, I had been wondering about humidity. If I have chicken eggs in at the same time will the higher humidity hurt them? I do have a second bator I can use if I need to.
Thanks!

If I were you I would incubate the duck eggs in a seperate incubator then the chicken eggs because the higher humidity will hurt the chicken eggs and if the humidity is to low it will hurt the duck eggs. Some people do incubate the together and do have good hatches but I wouldnt.

Thank you all for the info! I think to be safe I will use seperate bators as I have a dozen chicken eggs that I really want to hatch. Do I need to mist the duck eggs at all or just keep the humidity higher?
