Hi everybody,

I'm new at raising baby chicks. I've got two chicks of 5 weeks old. Those are gold partridge brahma chicks. Just a day after they were born, we checked the feathers and though that we have one poulet and one cockerel. Now they are five weeks old, I would like to be sure.

I've got a few shots of them. Could you let me know what you thing?

My first opinion is chick #1 is a cockerel and chick #2 is a poulet. Actually, chick #1 is quiet bigger than chick #2.

Thanks a lot guys,

Cute babies.

Feather sexing only works when crossing certain sex linked genes.

So far they both look like pullets, but Brahmas are super slow to mature. It is still quite early even for a fast maturing breed to be confident. Post updated pictures in a few weeks and we should have a better idea.
