Need Help - Turkey with Swollen Sinuses

Ok just got the tylon 50 I have not weigh my turkey's yet my question is I read Somewhere you could put the medicine in the water And you don't have to give it a shot you can put it in its sinus nostrale is this true they were out of 18 gauge needles so I got 20 gauge I still have the 18 gauge I used but I'm thinking they are duller than they were in the very 1st use plus dirty so I didn't want to reuse plus dirty.

With the Tylan 50 you need to weigh them and give 0.4 ml per pound orally 3 times a day, which means a 10-pound turkey get 4.0 ml 3 times a day.

Do not put it in water, that will not work.

With the Tylan 200 you need to weigh them and give 0.1 ml per pound orally 3 times a day, which means a 10-pound turkey get 1.0 ml 3 times a day.

Oh, and I would not suggest injecting the sinuses unless you can find instructions written by a veterinarian that say how to do it.

Ok got a lot of clear liquid out this morning but just went out and it's swollen up again 2 of my other turkey's are showing signs of it now too. Thank heaven I got my chicken vaccinated. So I think I found a store that sells the tylon they were closed today so how should I give that to them and should I do all 7 just to get ride of it?
:frowWhat exactly did you have your chickens vaccinated for?

I ordered them all from Hoover hatchery. This is what the paper work says but I didn't have a choice to vaccinate the turkey's. O talked to the others that have the other turkey's and no problems with them. My daughter just read about bird flu and said she thinks that is what they have the hole family is getting sore throat and sinuses are not right. I don't know where she read it but it told her to put the turkey's down and Bury the Carcasses did I waste money on all the anaba heideck's I have bought is this true you can't eat them now of course not till November but I don't know what to do now.

Cool that sounds great to me I'm giving the 2 turkey's with swollen heads the tylon 50 now. Oh and I found this also read the upload. I have found out that the stores can not carry any antibiotic the law has changed they can sell what they have on the shelf that is why it was so hard for me to find it. From now on you will need an Rx slip from your vet. I don't know if that is just in Alaska or all over but that is what I was told at this pet store today.this pic I'm sending you came from the out break in Utah in turkeys with sinus infection. The more I read about infection into the breast of a turkey it says it causes inflammation these are for the freezer so I want the best meat possible. So for now just down the throat and pray it works. One day I hope to be an expert on Turkey's as many nights o have stay up reading about this and worrying I was going to loss all my baby's but now I have hope. Oh when this letter first starts out they say it is a vitamin A deficiency. I know have all birds on vitamins. Thank you for being here these last few night I didn't now how I would get to the next day but knowing someone's on the other end on my side really helped me. THANK YOU

This vaccine has nothing to do with the respiratory infection your turkeys have. This is for Coccidiosis only. Completely different thing/symptoms.

Most states have pulled most antibiotics off the shelves but Tylan is still available to the public. Make sure you are giving the correct amount multiple times a day and your birds should start to improve.
