Need Help - Turkey with Swollen Sinuses

Forgot to mention that you should ignore the instructions on the bottle because those instructions are for cattle. Chickens and turkeys require a much higher dose and need to have it several times a day.

Ok im.giving him 3.2 ml of the 50 3 times a day yesterday it was 2 times. You really think all is ok I have not looked that up is it contagious to all my other turkey's chickens and ppl? Everyone that has been handled that Turkey now has a sinus infection maybe a Quincidence oh she is 10 lbs

If she weighs 10 pounds the amount she needs is 4 ml three times a day? Did I make an error in my dosing post?

Per Elanco, the oral dose for turkeys is 60 mg per pound per day.

10 pounds x 60 (mg per pound per day) / 50 (mg per ml)= 12 ml per day
12 / 3 times a day = 4 ml three times a day.

Please double check my math.

Yes it is probably contagious to your other birds but no not to humans.

Ok so the first pictures are of the newer turkey's cheeks this stage last about 2 weeks until it gets the the other picks of the really bad one. I cleaned the face and heads late last night and the turkey's sinus was drained about 3pm yesterday. The turkey's are fine when I first saw this in the bad one I thought it was being picked on. I've been doing alot of reading and swollen head syndrome comes up alot with all there signs. I don't know but I will up the does today to the 4ml today they will get the 3 doses yesterday they got 2 because of the lateness from when I got back from the store. Thank you both will keep you updated. The only part of the Turkey that is affected is the face sneezing and sneezing goop out of eyes and nose.

If it responds to the Tylan it is almost certainly mycoplasma.

That's an old thread! I'm gonna have to go post the proper amounts.

I am not sure where people got these numbers from, but I'll post there and try to explain why I think it's wrong.
