Sorry, it is beyond my pay grade to offer any effective advise or help. Sometimes however it helps if the young peeps have a 1/4 inch hardware cloth or other secure footing to walk on for the first few days until their bones and joints can mature and harden off a little more. You may do a search on here for "spray" or "splay" leg and find better help than I can give.

It's splay leg I have put a plaster (band aid) between the two legs and his now walking normal and is eating and drinking fine.... they are in a brooder on dust extracted wood shavings.

It may already be too late to correct the problem. But if you hatch again use shelf liner, the rubber type. You can find it nearly everywhere, supermarkets, dollar stores, walmart etc (oops UK, anywhere that would sell home goods like pots, pans coasters etc. Maybe Tesco or Sainsbury's). It has a grid pattern and I put it over paper towels for the first few days to give chicks of all sorts extra grip. So far since using it I have not had any splay leg problems, which I had before using it.

Close up of shelf liner, used in my hatcher and the first day or so in the brooder.

A therapy that I found works with splayed leg is putting the chick in a tight cup. I used a shot glass with button quail but of course a larger chick will need a larger glass or something. It made the chick stand with the leg in the proper position. I did this for 1/2 hour, about 4 times and added the shelf liner to the brooder and the bottom of the cup. Fixed the chick right up and his case was far more severe than the picture of the chick you have shown.
Good luck!

Band aid is working perfectly, funny enough, this is the first time I have experienced splayed leg. I love hatching quail eggs...I think any eggs brought of the net that get through the postal service have problems.

I agree. I've had one box come in that looked like a steam roller went over it. Looking at eggs right now in lockdown that have some of the worse aircells I've seen yet. I don't know how they are going to hatch.

Just hope for the best.... la bresse chicks have allot of main feathers coming out and they are getting big quick in just a week!... shame, out of 18 eggs I only have 5 chicks. Going to start incubating some quail eggs tomorrow...
