I got these 2 out of the bantam bin at TSC. I have assumed they were buff bantam cochin but if anyone thinks different I would be happy to know. I know the lighter on is a rooster, he's had a nice bright red comb for quite a while now. The darker one I'm not sure of. He/she just recently within the last couple of weeks has started getting a darker comb. Its lighter and pinker than the other one but I'm not sure if it's normal for the hens to have this too. These are my first chickens and like I said, I'm only assuming their breed so I don't know the norm for them. Thanks for any input! Oh, they are 8 weeks old now. Probably important to mention that lol. I also picked up 3 mille fleur d'uccle. You can see one in the pic.

Both are buff bantam cochins. One just has lighter featheration. At this point I'd say you have two cockerels. The d'uccle whose face is showing in that one picture is a pullet. You have some very pretty birds!

Just an update... the one lighter cochin is a cockerel and he is crowing. I assumed both were male so I gave them to my cousin so they could free range at her house and now the one is laying eggs I'm so sad that I didn't trust my gut and keep her. I had a feeling about her but so many people (not just on here) said she was a he. Just goes to show...nothing is 100% til they lay an egg or crow (and apparently even hens can crow ) lol. This is why I will not get rid of any of my silkie "roosters" until I am 100% sure. I wish I could keep them all!
