Our second round with hatching chicks in an incubator. Eighteen hatched and 17 of them seem like normal happy little chicks. One has what appears to be part of her intestines or something hanging out. Walking around good. Eating and drinking. Had to seperate it from the others because they were pecking at it. Has anyone had this? Is there anyway we can help her or do you think she will die? Thanks for any help you can give.

Don't quote me, but I believe this happens when they haven't fully obsorbed the yolk etc. when they were developing. It's sort of like a belly button that will dry up and fall off. I would seperate it, put a mirror or a tiny stuffy in there for it to cuddle with, and give it water with sugar in it.

Sounds like the yolk to me too. If its a small amount, it will probably absorb in a day or so. If there is quite a bit, you may not be that lucky. Good luck. I'm rootin' for you!
