Need help with Chicken psychology

Thanks for the good advice, I will isolate the rooster for a few days. To the rest of you WOW! now I know how my hen must feel. I didn't think this was that stupid of a question.

Have a couple of questions for you ...have the three chickens been together long? Was the rooster part of a larger group of hens before you got him?..sometimes it takes a new rooster time to "take over" a new hen (if the rock hen has not been with him in past) maybe dominate is a better word to use. Also, if the rooster came from a larger group of hens and now has only two to look after, he has too much time to focuse on the polish hen?....what do you think??

They all came from the same flock. Probable 5 to 7 Roosters and 15 hens is a good guess. When I let them out of the run which is 10 x 10 he seams to ease up quite a bit. I have plenty of room for a couple more hens but I am trying to keep things as simple as I can at first. I am thinking maybe isolate the rooster and add new hens from the same flock. The bad part is it would take a little time to build another small coop and pen. The easiest thing to try is adding two more hens.

Don't take any of the horseplay personally. It wasn't directed at you, and it wasn't a stupid question, really. This little community takes every opportunity to joke.

I agree with the person who said adding a couple more hens might help. Especially if they come from the same flock so that you don't have to isolate them for 2 weeks. It might keep him busier.
