Now she’s on and off of the nest? She goes on it, pulls some eggs under her, then goes off a couple minutes later. Every time she goes back she pulls more under her

Here’s a picture, there’s only 3 eggs she isn’t on. No puffing up or barking. Now she’s on and off of the nest? She goes on it, pulls some eggs under her, then goes off a couple minutes later. Every time she goes back she pulls more under her
My leghorns were jumping on my Sapphire gems head the first day and ran her off the nest once.Next day I moved the nest box to the other side of the room and closed the screen door (so the flock could see and hear her but couldn't disturb her) I used a tarp to darken the room, gave her some eggs, a feeder and waterer and she stayed there until they hatched with the door closed.I opened the door after they hatched and she was reintegrated into the flock along with the chicksNow she’s on and off of the nest? She goes on for a sec,
Yay!!!
How did she do the other times? Here’s a picture, there’s only 3 eggs she isn’t on. No puffing up or barking.
She just sat on 2 eggs and stayed for a month, we didn’t have a roo then so we weren’t worried and didn’t bother her. We feed their eggs to the strays in our neighborhood so they leave our chickens aloneHow did she do the other times?
She may be never sit on eggs again if she sat 30 days and nothing hatched. When you don't have a rooster to fertilize the eggs break her from being broody or let her sit and slide chicks under her in 21 daysShe just sat on 2 eggs and stayed for a month, we didn’t have a roo then so we weren’t worried and didn’t bother her. Sorry, I should’ve added that we gave her sapphy chicks but they somehow got into our run and drowned in our duck pondShe may be never sit on eggs again if she sat 30 days and nothing hatched. She’s been getting on it and getting off like a freak! When I tried to look under her she just ran off. It’s dark out now and she’s still roosting so I don’t know what’s up? She lays very early, 6-7 am, so it was an odd behavior for her. I know that sapphy hens don’t typically brood but she’s an exception. Normally I wouldn’t care but I’ve been trying to expand my flock before the colder months and my incubator is currently being used for coturnix so I can’t just hatch them unfortunatelyYou'll know she's truly broody when she sets on the nest day and night for three nights. If you reach into the nest like you are going to look under her for eggs, does she puff up like a balloon and growl or screech? Those are good signs she's broody.
