So I have a 12 ft. Iong, by 10 ft. Wide shed.I want to make a chicken coop with it(of course, tear it down pretty much and rebuild it into a coop, since it is NOT sturdy, it's not used, it was a horse shed, no door anymore)I was wondering, how many chickens would I be able to fit in that? They wouldn't live in the coop permanently, they would have a large run and some free range time.

Thank you in advance.

How big is the large run ?
What breed of chickens?
On average 30-40 chickens could nest in there.

I'd say 30 max...depending on your climate, your predator load, and what kind of run you'd have.

OK, from your prolific profile info, I see you live in Maine .....
.......unless you have a good weather protected run for winter, I wouldn't put more than 12-15 in there.
