Hi everyone. i have 2 ducks Donald and Daffy and basically Daffy has had dodgey wings since he first developed his large wings. the were both sticking out but one went down on its own and basically the other didnt. it sticks out but it dosent hurt him in any way and i can tuck it in without it hurting him or causing him discomfort and it will stay in until he next flaps his wings. i have wrapped it up before and it seemed to be fine for a while but then it started to come out again. was wondering what to do. ive thought it was angel wing but it dosent seem like it because apparently with angel wing it sticks out completely and it cant be bent back into place and it hurts them if you try. it hasnt got any worst ever form the begining and dosent stick out more or go in more. some pics and a video are below to help see the problem. any help would be greatful. thanks :D

I will add the video shortly as its currently uploading to youtube.

It's defiantly looks like angel wing to me. Some cases just can't be fixed. I had a goose with angel wing that got less noticeable after a few molts but it's still obvious that they do not lay normally,

Any suggestions on how to fix it? it dosent hurt him just looks weird :S hes only 11 months anyways

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there is not much you can do at this point. The best time to fix angel wing is very early on before the bones harden. At 11 months he's really too old for anything to be done without the assistance of a vet.

the bone isnt tense or anything. heres a video to show you what i mean.
its like the bone hasnt fully hardened

11 mns is likely too old to fix now like Kevin said. You need to catch it when they are getting in their flight feathers - 6-10 weeks old

Angel Wing, mild case, however the duck is too old for it to be wrapped to try and fix it. If there is no pain then no need to worry. If the feathers snag you can trim like you would to prevent flight.

Ok thanks guys. hes fine with it just looks wierd as i said and if theres no way of fixing it hes fine the way he is. he dosent seem at all bothered by it so its all good. Help people tell them apart so it a positive in a wierd way but i can tell the difference in their quacks. the difference is tiny so its probally because of how long ive had them. sometime daffy quacks like a female which is weird. he sometime produces a proper loud quack not a raspy one which is why i thought he was a girl when he was young. until the green feathers appeared

Thanks for the info guys, i appreciate it :D

I think my 2 have angel wing but they seem to be alright. I figure we can tell them aprt easier because 1 has it on e the right and the other has it on the left. Right now I'm mixing some alfalfa in with their food, I read somewhere on here that it helps somehow.

They won't self correct new2ducks, if caught early enough wrapping often helps fix angel wing. Diet helps prevent the onset of angel wing by avoiding high protien levels.
