Need Help with Duck

My Runner female was standofish today just looked like she didn’t feel well, right before bed she laid a soft shell egg. She never acted like your girl but evidently it makes them feel bad. Hopefully if that was what it was she’ll start perking up.

One of my older girls was behaving similarly. I gave her a small liquid dose of b12 and she bounced back the next day.

i wouldn’t rule out egg binding, though.

You may do a search on Obturator Paralysis, which occurs when an egg passing through the oviduct puts pressure Obturator Nerve which often causes short term paralysis of the legs. A month or two ago a member came here with the same problem, the next morning the duck was walking like normal.

Thank you. We checked on her right before dark, and she was up and walked a bit. She eagerly ate mealworms. Fingers crossed for tomorrow. We have a call into the vet.

We just checked on her, and she appears great (and hungry!). We gave her some grain, so we're not going to take her out for a bit (it's also 43 degrees!), but I'll post again when we're out. Thank you!

Little confused by your post, is she walking like normal again?
We have her set-up in a pretty small box, so there isn't much walking she can do, but she stood right up and came over the few steps to get grain and then went to the water and drank. We're going to take her back out to the run shortly.
