Hi,I have a question about feeding. My 14 week old chicks have been eating a medicated starter grower. My adults get a layer feed. A couple of days ago I took down the fence dividing the two coops so they all now share the same pen. Problem is they also are going into each others coops and eating their food. Can I safely feed either one of the feeds to all the chicks and adults?
Thanks for any help
Kathy

You can feed laying chickens starter/grower feed but you can't feed chickens that aren't laying a layer feed. The added calcium can kill them. You should add a feeder with a calcium supplement if you don't use a layer feed for your chickens that are laying.

Thanks for the quick reply. I made several phone calls today to vets and hatcheries and got mixed responses. Thanks.
Kathy
