Need help with heating my automatic waterer

My horizontal nipples with stock tank heater using a 10 gallon tote has stayed thawed at 5 degrees.

We've been in the low teens the last couple nights and so far so good

Maybe I went overboard with the pump, but I leave for work really early and sometimes don't get home till after dark I would feel really bad if they went without water one day because I "saved" $8 on the pump. When it gets really cold I may run home on lunch a few days to check on them till I am sure the system handles whatever winter throws at it.
