Need help with Little Giant

I agree that minor fluctuations are not usually a problem. Typically, you have more problems when things stay at the wrong values (temp or hum). Hatch time may be a bit off but the chicks are usually still healthy. The LG may still work out fine as a hatching incubator as the chicks are far less sensitive to minor fluctuations at that time than when they are first starting out, again, as long as they are not too far off. Those little embryos are a lot more resilient than we typically give them credit for. I think I spent somewhere around $200 or so on my Genesis w/digital thermo and picture window but when you are paying $65+ per dozen for high quality lines it pays for itself quickly. Having a seperate hatcher is nice as you don't have the messy clean-up required for your incubation machine where the eggs spend the longest time! It is also helpful if you have eggs hatching at different times. Good luck with your hatches.

the only way I can get my little giant temps steady is putting it in my oven and also filling all the empty spaces in the bator with bottles full of water. they act as heat sinks and it takes longer for the bators temp to rise or fall.

I tried everything, in closet, covered in blankets, insulation. the only thing that worked was the oven.
