I am incubating 6 call duck eggs in a Lyons TX-7 incubator. We have been hand turning since the metal thing that the eggs sit in above the grate was too small. We received the new chicken egg size grate today. But the eggs won't stay straight in the space with the large end up. It just pushes them and they can turn sides ways. Can someone tell me if this is the way its is supposed to work or what we are doing wrong. Maybe there is a DIY fix! We planning on going to a poultry show on Jan. 9th and would be gone 2 days and a night. Don't guess we'll be going if we can't fugure this out. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

They're supposed to roll on their sides, unless you're turning them by hande then you can put them small end down I think

So they are supposed to turn willy-nilly in the space! We've been carefully turning them X to O keeping large end up for the last 7 days. We can see the veining in 5 out of the six. Do you think it will hurt to go from one method to the other?

We have the Lyon Roll-X, it also rolls them on their sides.

Very good equipment, excellent hatch rates.

I would not worry about changing methods, nor would I worry about the willy nilly nature of the turning.
