Oh wow, i just researched into Cocci. Thankyou silkie_sue... as i do now believe it may be that. i'm still on a learning curve with my chicks 
but am getting there. Only now do i realise that the 2 which died in the later evening did look lethargic, and fluffed up when i found the first 3 dead. The other 12 are still alive, and seem to be okay.. but im going to get some meds for this for the lil 12 left.. and also if it happens again. Thankyou all so much
