Need help with my ducks!

I have 3 ducklings. Unsure of the breed. They were a gift. I had been feeding them chicken scratch. And they slowly began to quick walking and swimming. They will sit up and they will fall backwards and lay there. When they walk they'll fall, so they just lay around. I went and got some medicated feed for chicks, and got a bottle if Vetrx. Any ideas of what could be wrong?

They need to be eating starter feed, becuase scratch can't even be used as a proper diet for adult ducks. They need the starter for the extra protein and vitamins and such. Also, I would take that medicated feed back and get non-medicated. Medicated is okay for chicks but not for ducks.

What you're describing sounds like a nutritional deficiency caused by the scratch feed diet. You should get some vitamins for them, Poultry Nutri-Drench is what I use, and start putting it in their water or carefully giving a few drops orally each day for a faster result.

Also make sure their legs look nice and straight. They may have a niacin deficiency and if so they'd need to be given niacin. Good luck with them! I hope they get better
