I cannot voice an opinion on the leghorn or white rock because I do not have either. I really love my SLW and Ameraucana (I think is an EE). The light brahma is a sweetie but can be a bully as she is head honcho. My NHR is not mean but not overly friendly...a bit shy. My BAs are both sweet and one is very friendly and even acting motherly to the 7 week olds.
Out of my new crew of 21...they are all friendly. Golden Buffs, Cochins, Partridge Rock and the absolute sweetest is on Ameraucana and the Dominique.
Good luck keeping just 10. I wanted only 6 and got them, then got 5 more BAs and just got 21 more. hahahaha
Okay, I know I will offend someone...
My Silkies are cute, but kind of pointless. They don't want to cuddle and they won't lay a bunch of eggs (esp. since 2 out of 3 are roos
!).
Out of 26 birds, I have one EE, two BR, 2 Australorps and a Turken that are big ol' cuddle-bugs. I am starting to think that the traditional barnyard fowl are best!
IMHO
Wow! Thanks for the comments. I also saw at my county fair some SLW's and they were PRETTY! They looked kind of big too.
BayCityBabe,
Don't worry you didn't offend anyone. I understand what you're saying, and my dad is starting to think that too even though he thinks they look cool. I don't care how bad they are at laying I just want some
pdsavage,
I was thinking of doing that but then the eggs would be too small and I couldn't do much with them... as far as selling...
