I am putting together a poultry keeping and organic gardening seminar, and I need a name for it.

I've contacted a local feed store who is also an organic products distributor, and they want to discuss the idea with me further. I've got to contact the store manager tomorrow to set up a time to meet with her in person.

I am completely blank on what I could call it, and I am needing some suggestions...

The only thing I've come up with so far is "Chicks & Chick Peas..."

    Any ideas?

maybe a little something mentioning the fact that it is organic too. simple so people know right away what you are doing.

maybe "From Chicks to Chick Peas...Organically"

just expounding...sounds like a neat adventure!

Quote:Well with the very large movement to organic gardening and growing your own food, there are a lot of people starting to raise their own poultry. Its exploding everywhere, and here in Texas we have a lot of restrictions. Our borders are closed to out of state birds so we don't get many "poultry" visitors.

There wasn't an active poultry club in the DFW area, so I decided to start my own. It's started as a regional email group for folks around the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and we have over 160 members now.

I thought that since there were so many "newbies" to poultry keeping in our area, a seminar would be a helpful thing for them, and it would give everyone an opportunity to meet others in our area.

We're going to have a feed representative come and speak about poultry nutrition and feeding, an avian vet come and speak about general health, hopefully someone from the APA to come and speak about the hobby in general, and a representative from the state laboratory to talk about the importance of PT testing. We'll also have some organic gardening experts come in and explain the how's and what's of that.
