1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.) all different types and ages
2) What is the behavior, exactly. normal
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms? a couple of weeks
4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms? the whole pen hasnt jumped to any other pens
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma. theres bleeding from them scraching at it
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation. nothing...they were taking to the 4-h show and one the chickens next to the speckeled sussex had mites but she wasnt the first one to exibit this
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all. laying pellets and corn for the winter and reg water
8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc. normal
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? dusted for mites, medicated water, and warmed, also put mineral oil on them
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet? all myself
11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help. not my chickens and owners wont lwt me post a pic
12) Describe the housing/bedding in use. normal run that all grass has been pecked out of enclosed nesting with basicly pine in it. they roost outside of the boxes
