Hi all. My 3 yr old hen has been sickly for over a year. She was picked on by the other hens and we now let her free range during the day and sleep in a dog crate on the porch at night. She stopped laying eggs more then 6 months ago.
recently, my husband noticed she was sitting funny and when we examined her found she had fly strike. We treated her for several days picking out the maggots, giving her salt bathes and using vetericyn on her wounds. She seemed to get better and started walking around eating well. We have also been giving her probiotic and vitamin water.
Now, she has started the head bobbing from side to side, and has stopped eating again. My husband picked her up this morning and clear fluid came out of her mouth.
does anyone have any suggestions?
