Need Help with silkie chicks

    [​IMG] i hatched out 3 Bantam Silkies DEC. 21st.i still have them indoors they lost all their down,is it safe to put them out in the coop now,i live in new york,where the weather is still cold?i clean their cage every other day,but they are starting to smell.their is one roo & 2 hens?

    I think they are too young to go out in the coop.

    Yes they are too young to go outside without some proper heat.
    I got my 3 buff silkie chicks Jan 1st I still have them inside and I have to clean them twice daily to keep down the smell.

    Give them atleast another 4 weeks before putting them outside.

    I usually move mine to the garage where it does not freeze at 2-3 weeks and they stay there till 6 weeks and then outside but I do provide a lamp for them to stay under at night. Are your using Pine shavings? I have tried Straw but it is not as absorbent. I know I am always glad to get them out of the house. Cute but stinky after 3 weeks.
