I have some quail that are laying but they are laying eggs with soft shells I was wondering if I could give them alittle bit of oster shells to harden them

Oyster shell is fine, or you can give them shells from any eggs you use in your home (I bake them for about 10 minutes and crumble them). If they need the calcium they will gobble them up.

Ok I just wanted to make sure they would not hurt them.and how much should I give them should I mix it in there feed or just by them selfs

sometime young, under 15 weeks, quail and old, over 2 years lay soft shell eggs until the egg factory gets working correctly and in the case of the old ones it starts to shut down. but do have a dish of shell for them at all times it is also good for the bones.

I will do so thank you all how do you check the age of your Mexican speckle quail

If you don't get your quail as chicks it's not really possible to tell their age other than the word of who ever you got them from.
Cheers,
Jessie
