Need help with SULMET

The 2 bo's I got yesterday from a breeder. With all I read about McMurray I sent the guy an email to see if he hatched them or ordered them.

Hattie is the one with Cocci. I have had her for 3 weeks. She is 3 months old and had always been in a cage. I placed her in the yard immediately. So now from what I understand she could have gotten this easily because she was never in the sand , yard etc?

All my kids are free range in the yard all day and Hattie joined them the day I brought her home. I didnt know to intoduce her to the other chickens sand, yard etc.....

I feel like a bad chicken owner now

my vet said that they will always have cocci they just wont make them sick as they get older and you have to medicate on and off till they lay their first egg
