Need help with tarp roof holding water

I have heard of people stringing up pie pans to keep birds off of berry bushes. Not sure if this would work for this or not but if it did the lines you strung up would be less subject to damage from snow. May not even need the pie pans, might be able to just use rope...just an idea.

We had the same problem and changed to netting. It won't hold up under snow, fyi, but with rain it does just fine. If you get much rain, no matter what you're going to over weigh the support boards, unless you use so many boards it's pretty solid. Or, drain holes in the tarp.
What kind of netting? Poultry netting? Once my girls are in their real run I planned on using deer netting as the "roof" to keep things from flying in. I haven't opened the package yet so I'm not sure how large the holes are.

Let the rain pool, but put a hole in lowest part of tarp. Then suspend vinyl rain gutter under hole and other end dumps water out of enclosure, or, fills 30gal garbage can with drinking cups installed. Fighting buildup is hard, channeling water is easy.Clucknpecker

tie a rope between two trees/poles that is a foot above the coop anf above it. hang a tarp on the rope so it kinda falls on the coop too. easy slant

I agree that a sloped frame is what your tarp needs. A quick solution? Punch some drain holes in the tarp with a knife!

This is actually what I did since my dog pen tarps are basically sun shades. I am replacing tarps with bead board as they rip and wear out from the Winter snow and Summer heat.

I have an Aframe roof. However the drain holes aren’t placed where the water collects. Suggestions please. I saw you wrote punch a hole in the tarp. What can I use to re-enforce the hole so it doesn’t rip. Thanks
