Need Help with this please.

I'm going to the feed store later today this is what I need help with. I have 29 grown alsomost 1year old hens on Layer feed
but I have 2 Xbroody hens with there babies and they will be jioning the flock soon what do I feed layer and grower in another feeder will they know not to eat the the layer ? they have oster shells also always

or do I feed all grower with oster shells ? They free range also

You may wish to separate out the broodies w/ their chicks and give them just chick feed.

I have them in there own section of the coop right know but mama wants out her chicks are 8 weeks she laid a egg the other day in the nest I have no idea what to do 1st year with chickens

if she laid she wants to ditch the young birds
so really I would just take out the hen and leave the young birds alone as they really don't need her
yhen the chicks can have the grower feed minus the oyster shell
if you feed grains whole then you need to feed granite grit to the chicks
that would be the best situation for all concerned
they really don't need the older hen and she is laying so her natural instincts have gone from the chicks
she wants to be a hen again
