Need help with turn-5

Can someone please help with this incubator. Just got this today. No thermometer or hygrometer. Should it have these. Where would they go? How often does the auto turner supposed to turn the eggs? I think it only turns the arm if I push the black button on the gear box. How much water do I use

Welcome to BYC! Before you start incubating, do get a good quality thermometer and hygrometer. It's VERY important that you monitor the temperature and humidity in there. Once you have those items, get the incubator up and running and start tuning your settings, make sure it holds the correct temperature (99F for forced air and 101F for still air, measured on top of the eggs) and 45-50% humidity. I can't say how much water you will need in there as there are a number of things that influence it, like the humidity in the room you have the incubator in, etc.

I like to run a new incubator for 24 hours before setting eggs, to make sure everything's working as it should.

Regarding turning the eggs, minimum 3-5 times daily, but more is better. Good luck with your hatches!

thanks for the reply. i have incubated before using a different incubator. this one may not be complete. as i mentioned no thermometer or hygrometer. not sure where to put them when i do get it. i don't see any adjustments at all except for the wing nut on the wafer. do you know if the egg turner is supposed to rotate just a few times per day or continuous. i have not seen it turning.
have been combing this site and the internet for instruction manual.

I place thermometers and hygrometers close to the eggs when I incubate. Either on top, or in the egg tray if there is space. As for turning, in my experience the incubator rotates the eggs continuously. As I said above, more is better!

What make and model incubator is that? Someone here may have one and be able to assist you.
