so someone let 2 ducks loose in the lake i live on and I don't know what to do. The most i have gotten (from a local rehab place) is that they are domestic ducks, and closest i can find on Google is they are welsh harlequin. I have cared for lots of animals but never ducks

I assure you they are not welsh harlequins, but they may be buffs. I'm not too firmiliar with the various breeds of ducks...

As for care, if you'd like them to be able to live for the most part on your pond, you could simply build or buy a small duck house for them to go in at night.
As for food you can buy flock feed I believe purina sells it. I myself only feed my ducks scratch (with oyster shells and grit as a supplement) because they free range.

I'm thinking silver appleyard or maybe Harlequin crosses. The duck house should be about 8 to 12 sq ft for just the 2 ducks. Biggest thing is protection from wind in cold times and ventilation..ducks are pretty Hardy. If you build it on something and float it out in the pond it will help protect them from predators. And as previous post states an all flock food.
