I am a new chicken mother and took some time off for surgeries on my back. My husband helped us but there is so much I don't know. One of our oldest chickens went through a molt and even though she has successfully re grown her feathers she is still not laying.
How old are chickens when they usually stop laying? These girls are my pets so even if they no longer lay they will live their lives free ranging and keeping me in giggles. Thanks for any help you can offer.

How old is she? Many older hens take longer to resume in spring. Many stop laying at 5-8 years. Feeding a higher protein ration can help to optimize laying in older hens as they often become protein deficient, especially after a molt. I recommend 18-20% protein.
