need help

I built a chicken tractor for my silkies, they love it but when it is time to roost they will stay on the ground in a corner, they will not use the ramp. is there any way to train them to use the ramp? I have been putting them in at night, but every night is getting to be a nuisance.

Start putting them at the top of the ramp instead of all the way inside. Then halfway up the ramp, etc, until eventually they do it on their own. They have tiny brains, so it takes a lot of repetition until they figure it out.

How steep is the ramp? I assume there's a good number of cleats on it as well?

thanks for the info. the ramp is not very steep and lots of cleats, the hen goes up and down all day and goes to the nest box to lay egg but at night they roost on the ground, starting to think they don't have a brain at all lol

So other than 1 hen do any of the others ever go up the ramp on their own for anything?

just have a hen and rooster and no he dont

Maybe try sprinkling some favorite treats on the ramp to lure them onto it?
