I had a baby chick that had a crack on its shell . The crack was it getting ready to hatch, it hasn’t zipped or anything only popped for a little and I was opening the incubator to fill some water and my little flash light fell on the egg and cracked it. It was a very very light fall and the chick is still alive and is breathing but idk what to do. This is my first hatch and it’s the first one that started to pip. I have some others that have some pip cracks but haven’t zipped. It’s been about 7 hours and I’m starting to worry. What should I do about the crack?? Do I cover it? His beak is poking out and it looks a little wet inside. I’m stressing out hard. My humidity is 70-73 and my temp is 99-99.4

I had the same exact thing happen here with a Serama egg. I made sure to keep the humidity up around 65% - 70%. I had to assist her hatch once she stalled during zipping but she's my one and only survivor and is a very spoiled rotten little 7 month old pullet. I wish you the best and hope for a wonderful outcome.

It looks ok at the moment. What day is it on? Leave it for now. Your humidity is high enough it should be ok.

Thanks for the tag, Heather!
That's great to hear she's doing well. Snd that she's a she! How are your CCL babies? Both girls still?

Yeah like 4 out of my 6 eggs have pipped and some move from time to time but not as active as I would hope. 4 of my eggs have cracks but no beaks visible. All of them are alive though
