I'm getting some new chicks from Meyers hatchery because my hen lost the rest of her flock! Will a hen who gets broody really often, but isn't currently broody, except day old chicks??

Maybe, maybe not. We can't tell you one way or the other. You will need to try them out, but be ready for rejection and have an alternate way to brood them.

Usually, to have any success getting a hen to accept and brood new chicks is to have it coincide with her final week of being broody. That way her hormones are compatible with accepting chicks.

Another way to get a hen to adopt chicks is to brood the chicks yourself but have them in direct proximity to the hen. I've had success with this method, but it can take a few weeks for the chicks to trigger broody hormones in the hen. Here's my thread on this method. https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/we-know-broody-hens-how-about-a-nanny-hen.1407935/
