I need some help...I posted some pictures a few days ago and ever one said they thought my bantam chicks where Cochin. I went out today and my black bantam Electra has gray strips on her wing feathers would she still be a Cochin? Sorry if that not the right term for it. I am still really new at this, I think my mom said it was gray/blue lacing. If someone could help me with this question that would be great and if someone wants to tell me the right terms to use that will be great to thanks.

They are still very young and cochins come in so many different colors! Also, the first feathers they get isn't always indicative of what they will look like grown.

If it has lacing it could be a silver laced cochin.

if they are still babies, the feather color pattern is not reliable yet. To give you an example, i have a ten day old blaxk polish, but a few of her wing feathers are coming in white, but they will be black as an adult. At about 2 months old they will be all feathered and will look like miniature versions of their adult self. But yes, you may see some gray to start with.

Thanks I don't feel like I will ever learn the right terms for everything there is so much to learn. I just wish I knew were to look to find the right terms. Thanks for the help.
