I use chicken wire around and over my brooder coup and put 1/2 that is 24 inches high on the bottom over the chicken wire but no critters ever try to get that close with all these dogs around well all but the snakes and my dog catches them when they get around the brooder, she got a snake outside the brooder just last week.

Well, I got the frame built today and I went with a 9 Ft Ceiling, There are cross braces, and I am still not sure if I am going to use Wire or getting netting for the top. I am going to use the 1/2 x 1 Welded Wire for the sides.

Trefoil, Do you mean 1/2 X 1 Wire? I found it at my local agway. I have also found it online in a few spots, I think the wireman.com has it. I am going to use that for the sides, I am still unsure about the top, I may do netting or I may do the chicken wire, Both make be nervous about stuff getting in though the top. The snow I am not worried about I can just knock it off though out the storm.

Thanks. Go with whatever makes you the most comfortable. They both have their pros and cons, but I think either will work. I even used the cheap plastic fruit tree netting one summer for guineas, it worked, but was completely destroyed by the end of summer.
