Need ideas for a Aviary for my Peafowl, bunch of questions,I picked up most of the Lumber today.

SO I have the Aviary up, it is 16 W x 20 L x 8.5 H, I have attached a 8 W x 10 L x 8 H coop to one of the 16 FT sides, I'll have a door into the aviary and a door into the coop on the same side, I am only going to put a small opening from coop into aviary. I am doing a Shed type roof which pitches one way.

Without reading all of your posts, would you please tell me what you used on your floor? Did you just leave it dirt? I am needing ideas for a floor in the peafowl pen at our local park. Something that will look aesthetically beautiful, but also be durable and not too much of a pain to take care of. Is there also any kind of flooring that can be something like a chicken coop floor that is made using DE and other stuff that you only have to actually pull out and clean once/twice a year? Thanks in advance for all help given.

I use just dirt in the outside pen and pine shavings inside, I may and have in the past used wood chips which I may do again.

Can be important that there is enough room for peacocks to turn around in pen without brushing their tails against sides of pens or objects in pen if you want them to be in best plumage. A sheltered perch well of the ground is good for roosting and netting is definitely an option to cover the rest of the top.

They need a lot more room than just enough to turn around without brushing their tails on the side of the pen...at least 100 square feet per pea.
