Need ideas

I'm thinking about getting into raising chickens for eggs and meat. I have a 1/8th acre that is fenced in with netwire and a covered stall. This lot used to house baby calves. I'm thinking about adding chicken wire and an electric fence around the bottom and top. I will build a coop in the stall. My biggest concern is protecting the chicken from airborne predators. I've thought about deer netting, but I would need a ton of it. Do you guys have any ideas? I'm on a limited budget. Is the best idea just to hope for the best each day and lock them up tight each night?

If you get more active breeds, that are in camouflage colors, AND give them some tables or bushes or similar things to hide under, you might not have too many losses.
