I'm getting a new incubator, and wanted to get some feedback from everyone here! I've previously hatched with a Brinsea Octagon Eco, which I liked for the size, but it didn't auto-turn and I felt $100+ for a flimsy plastic turning cradle (that many reviewers said broke) was ridiculous. I've also hatched in a Brinsea Mini Advance borrowed from a friend. I loved the automation, but it only holds 7 eggs (unless you remove the auto-turn), and since most of my eggs are shipped I like to start at least 12 to better my odds of a decent hatch.

My incubator wish list is:
-auto-turning
-holds at least 12 eggs
-easy to see into
-is inexpensive, or at least under $100
-would prefer it not be a hovabator

Any recommendations? I've been spying on the MagicFly (and the identical off-brand), but there are o many options out there I'm somewhat overwhelmed. I don't need the Brinsea brand name-- just something that gets the job done.

Those 48 egg job no-name brands that are automatic turners on ebay have done OK for me. Held pretty consistent temp and humidity. It wasn't expensive, either. Like 50-60? I couldn't see in through the top only the sides and bottom, though.

I do recommend the r-Com MX 50 from Amazon, but it's like 280, so not in your wish list parameters.

Have the magic fly. It’s ok... I got from 10-85% hatch rates. 10% was an attempt at dry incubation. No bueno. I did have toe/foot problems on chicks due to inconsistent temps, though. It’s hard to manage unless located just so.

I got an Incuview in August, though, and looooove it. Just hatched 24 of 25 eggs set, with one early quitter.

It’s above your budget but maybe you can get used/refurb? Not one toe problem in my hatches, and my broody had her eggs with toe and foot problems due to going broody in the coop in these cold temps. Same mama as the eggs I set in the Incuview.

I LOVE the look and reviews of the Incuview, and thanks for telling me they sell them refurbished! I got one on eBay for $134 with shipping. I'm excited to see how it goes. I bought two used Brinsea Octagon Ecos last year and resold them for a nice profit, so it should all work out as far as expense goes. Thanks for the rec!
