Making a PVC hoop run is the route I'm about to take.
Light weight, using normal chicken wire/plastic netting to keep birds in and hawks out.
There's nil for insects this time of year here so I can only let the girls out for an hour or so in afternoons or they roam all over the neighborhood searching for bugs. 1 or 1.5" PVC hooped into drilled holes in light weight wood square frame seemed cheap and simple. That way it can easily be placed open end to the door of existing tractor, slides easily and gives em more leg room.
