Need Info on Ameraucana Leghorn Crosses

I use Meyer Hatchery, & they have Ameraucanas separate from their EEs. They have both Hatchery Quality Barred Rocks, & Heritage which are typically used in shows. The Heritage is what I meant, are used for shows.

Of course you should if you want to! Don’t listen to those telling you not to even try or that it will instantly fail. It may or may not but only way to find out is to try it. I think it would be fun even if they don’t lay blue or whatever.

I think those would work fine for your purposes! Especially since it seems like they’re working towards a specific type or color from those pictures? So might be more set but possibly not.

With EE's though, what kind of things would it cause?

The main issue with EEs is that they are mutts so they are a big bag of genetics, you never really know for sure what they have.

I'm pretty sure Cackle has some Ameraucanas, but I could be wrong, I've never used a hatchery.

If EEs are the only blue layers you have access to, I say try them out. Things may get a bit complicated, but that might make it more fun. Good luck.

Okay here they are. Sorry for all the pics I lost the black pullet about a month ago sadly and the daddy this past July but still have the rest. There are or were 4 chicks total. 2 WL crosses and 2 EE crosses (from 2 different mothers I’m pretty sure). All are mixed with my Lavender Orpington rooster. I’m pretty sure Max is from the laced EE but not sure.
