WHAT?!
That's like saying a child needs their first round of vaccines and is then fine for the rest of their life! Not to mention it is ILLEGAL not to have them up to date on their rabies vaccines. I am currently at work (ER vet) and I have had 2 cases of parvo tonight...why?...b/c the owners didn't think they needed to keep up with their vaccines.
Now it's going to cost each of them around $700 for treatment and I can only tell them that MAYBE they'll live. So easy to prevent and so horrible for the dogs that aren't protected...just like heartworms...completely preventable.
and many many dogs GET parvo that have been vaccinated,,it works both ways..children get their shots up to what? grade 9 or so,,and then they are done unless they go to a different country..so essentially we are vaccinated for life..as for rabies,,and others, get blood titers done, and if they show ok they dont need any more shots, and many vets will sigh off on that, just because its been one way for ever doesnt mean its the only way,and you are a vet so what else are you going to say..redhen asked opinions and I gave mine, just as you gave yours, its her dog and she can do whatever she wants with it.
