How's your Runners doing together?
Oh yeah. So yesterday I decided to leave them together and just watch from afar. Well by mid to late afternoon, in the ungodly Texas summer heat, the birds seemed to be doing ok; they were lying on the ground and cautiously keeping distance from each other . So, I decided I would throw caution to the wind and let them stay together over night and hope no one is injured.
This morning I looked out the window and could see them moving around. They appeared to be much closer in proximity to one another and I didn't see any kind of nipping. Well, after I went out there to refill the food and water, the older Mommas have reverted a bit to their aggressive ways. I also noticed quite a bit of older duck feathers on the ground again from the Mothers. I'm guessing it is just stress? I still haven't purchased a cam yet for the coop, but I will soon. Anyway, I'm going to try and keep my distance and let them sort it out, I think.
